Frith Jenkins
Frith started out working lead lighting with glass in the 1980's and progressed to mosaics in the late 1990's.
Colour would be one way to describe Frith's work. Contrasting, blending and out right clashing of colours can be seen throughout her work.
Glass is one of her favourite mediums to work with translucent, opaque, textured and mirrored glass sitting in her studio waiting to be cut into shape.
Working in a mosaic medium has seen the use of beads, bone china ,ceramic tile, shell, and whatever is left lying around too long.
Howick Local Board recently commissioned Frith and her friend Jane to create several mosaic pieces for Howick. These can be seen outside the Howick RSA, 25 Wellington Street and at 104 Picton Street on Fencible Walk Park, Howick, Auckland,
